The “San Miguel I Love You” Festival reached the height of glamor during its second edition of the Corazones San Miguel Awards. As part of the unwavering efforts to further solidify San Miguel de Allende’s tourism industry, the current administration, through its Tourism, Economic Development and International Affairs Department, awarded San Miguel’s “Hearts” to prominent public figures and media celebrities, in appreciation of their tremendous devotion to this beautiful city and as a symbol of the great love that sanmiguelenses hold for these
extraordinary individuals.
This year, San Miguel’s Hearts were awarded to: Nosotros Los Nobles film director Gaz Alazraki, prolific journalist Fernanda Familiar, stage and film actorand director Otto Sirgo, talented Mesa América chef Enrique Olvera, famous golfer Lorena Ochoa, creative director of Tommy Hilfiger Lorenzo Ruiz, noted architect Enrique Norten, sculptor Jorge Marín and world renown photographer Spencer Tunick.
A number of other distinguished guests were also in attendance, including jewelry designer Daniel Espinoza, tenor Fernando de la Mora and actors Margarita Gralia, Damián Alcázar and Aarón Díaz, who were the recipients of this “heart-felt” award in 2013.
The Hearts of San Miguel Awards are granted to public figures, entrepreneurs and institutions that have made outstanding contributions to San Miguel de Allende—a city that was recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage site in 2008 and by Condé Nast Traveler as Mexico’s No. 1 destination in 2013.
