Close to 2,000 agents from municipal, state and federal police forces and state emergency services will be providing security during this year’s Rally Guanajuato.
Deputy Secretary of Public Security Martín Octavio Luque Lucio met with police forces and the organizers of this international event to lay out the strategy.
By the end of the meeting, it was established that 210 police agents, 45 ambulances, 17 motor pumps, 42 first-aid units, 13 rescue teams, 10 tow trucks, 15 motorcycles, 1 trailer and 3 helicopters will be on duty during the event.
Security and contingency plans were approved for the 2014 Guanajuato Rally, a 4-day event which will run from Thursday, March 6 to Sunday, March 9 and take place along the dirt roads that stretch between Silao, León and Guanajuato.
In addition to accident prevention and crowd control, the objective behind the security plan is to provide immediate aid in the event of emergency.
