Garnered from various source (TV, blogs, guidebooks and other media) AM San Miguel offers some facts and figures about Super Bowl XLVIII.
•    What price glory: In 1967, the costs of a Super bowl ticket was $12. As of press time, the cheapest ticket on one online vendor was going for around $1,600. And if you are a high- roller, you can get a 30-person suite for $325,000!
•    Halftime Fun Facts: more people tuned in for Madonna’s halftime show at 2012 (114 mil- lion) than actually watched the game itself (111 million). So how much did she make for that per- formance? Nothing. That’s be- cause Super Bowl halftime per- formers don’t get paid. But their performance is no act of chari- ty. Madonna might not have re- ceived a cash payment, but she got 12 minutes of exposure on a world stage that costs $4 mil- lion for a 30-second ad.That’s $96 million of free advertising.
•    Party Favors: It’s estimat- ed that Americans spent more than $1 billion on food for last year’s big game, including (ac- cording to Turbo Tax) $184 million on potato chips, $40 million on pretzels and, for the health conscious, $12 million on rice cakes. If Americans can do one thing well, it’s throw a big Super Bowl party.
•    Boob Tube Numbers: The Super Bowl has since 2010 held the title of the most-watched program on television. That year, a CBS broadcast of the event reached 106.5 million viewers, beating the network’s 1983 telecast of the series finale of “MASH” as the biggest boob-tube draw in history by half a million viewers.

•    Like those ads?: The Fox Network seeking around $4 million for the privilege of run- ning a 30-second spot in Super Bowl XLVIII, according to buy- ers familiar with the situation, a slight tick up from the average price secured by CBS – between $3.7 million and $3.8 million – in 2013. That’s $133,333.33 per second. Ka-ching!!
•    Give ya 10 to one: As for gam- blers throwing down money on the big game, it’s estimated that fans will wager $98.9 million on the game and Las Vegas will re- portedly pull in $8.03 million in profits from sports books from the Super Bowl.
    Fowl Shot? Some1.25 bil- lion chicken wings will be con- sumed and that the average fan will take in roughly 1,200 cal- ories during the game. Domi- nos and Pizza Hut are also ex- pected to sell 29 million slices of pizza.
•    Snow kidding: On Feb. 2, 2013, temperatures hovered in the 20s in the lovely confines of East Rutherford, N.J., with no blizzard or snowpocalypse. This is a domeless Super Bowl. Ojala!!!
•    Football,Food and Fans: Ac- cording to the National Restau- rant Association, the top three foods in Super-Bowl watching homes during the game are 1. Salsas, dips or spreads; 2. Chick- en wings; 3. Pizza. The associa- tion also says more Americans will order takeout or delivery from a restaurant during the game compared to those who will go to a restaurant or bar by a 4-1 ratio.
•    Say What? Tigela muito grande! SiriusXM again will broadcast the game in nine lan- guages: Chinese, English, French, German, Hungarian, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian and Span- ish. (In Portuguese, tigela muito grande is ‘very big bowl.’)
